Only the Good Friday #1 - The Good Stuff Today
In my roaming around this morning, I ran across this very warm, touching post from Insightful Nana, which led me over to the Only the Good Friday posts at This Eclectic Life , which was like y’know, Serendipity, because I had been thinking all morning that I really wish there was a meme that fits my mood this morning. And there it is - still in the development stages - Only the Good Friday.
The concept: One day a week, resolve to post ONLY GOOD stuff, noting snarky, mean or negative. I’m totally down with that concept, so I’m jumping on the Only the Good Friday bandwagon both here and over at Coffee Break. From now on, you’ll read nothing but good stuff from me on Fridays. I hope you’ll join us - Thorne is in, too, so you’ll get your share of witchy Friday goodness along with great coffee, inspiration and Tarot.
So here’s what’s GOOD with me today:
I was scouting around looking for an inspirational Tarot card to post over at Tarot Tuesday (that’s my own home-grown Tarot meme) and I ran into this stunning deck over at Aeclectic Tarot. Intrigued, I followed the link to the author’s web site and learned that the Anna.K Tarot Set would be available for sale — tomorrow.
Back when my kids were little, I had over fifty Tarot decks. I collected them for their beauty and the way that they “felt” to me. One tragic day, I left the SO with the baby while I ran some errands. The baby, for the record, was about 5 months old. The next day, I found ALL of my Tarot decks in a jumble in a box - completely stuck together with dried baby formula. His story was that “she got into them and knocked over the formula while I was filling her bottle”. Instead of telling me, he just scooped them all up and threw them into a box and HID them. There was no salvaging even one full deck out of the ruin.
Since then, I’ve only managed to ever have one deck at a time - until last year, when I slowly started to build my collection again. This week I had a little windfall in the form of extra writing assignments, and I’d already earmarked part of it to buy myself a new deck - and Serendipity dropped it right into my lap.
I’ve also managed to be right on track with getting the first Tarot Tuesday post up - it’s another Ace from Anna K.’s deck, so do drop over there and take a look. That post also includes links to Anna K.’s website where she has an awesome javascript online reading - for free - using her deck, pictures of each card in the deck, and her interpretations of each one.
So that’s my Tarot goodie for today. Do go check it out. If you like the Universal Rider-Waite deck, you’ll like this, even though it deviates slightly.
