Only the Good Friday #3 - A Tarot Spread for Good

Published by chameleonsdream at 9:42 am under Only the Good Fridays Edit This

It’s Only the Good Friday, and I’ve got something special - the Spreading Good Tarot Spread. It’s designed to help you focus on the good in your life, and how you can draw out and spread good in all the areas of your life. Use it to help you find ways that you can find, strengthen and spread good things in your life, your community and your world. Here’s how the spread looks:

only the good tarot spread

Before you begin with the Spreading Good Tarot spread, take a few moments to put yourself into a positive frame of mind. Do what works best for you - a few moments of silent meditation, a cup of tea or coffee, a scented candle. Think about the good things in your life - is it a beautiful day? Did your boss praise your work? Pull up positive thoughts and focus on them for a few minutes, then shuffle the cards and lay them out.

The  Positions and Their  Meanings

Self - You are the center of your world. In many ways, you are a reflection and a seed of the world around you. Where is the good in you? How can you draw on that? What do you need to do to be good to yourself?

Home - Your home is a microcosm of the world. What you manifest in your home is what you will bring with you out into the world. What do you need to do to bring more good into your home? How can you maximize the good in your home? What changes should you make in your physical surroundings?

Family - Your family is your base in the world. Strengthening your family helps you stand strong in the world. What strength can you draw from your family? What can you put into your family? What things can you do to improve your family life?

Friends - Your friends are your next sphere of influence. They can bring more good - or block the good that you can do. Who are your friends? How do they affect you? How can you affect them? What changes should you make in your relationships with friends to bring and spread more good in the world of your friendships?

Work - Your work world makes up a major part of your life. It can affect your mood, your attitude and your physical reality in the world. What do you take from your work? What do you give in your work? What can you do to make your work experience more positive for yourself and your co-workers?

Community - Community is more than where you live. It includes the communities in which you involve yourself - your church, your clubs, your organizations, your neighborhood. What actions can you take to promote the good in your communities? How can you best benefit from the communities in which you participate?

World  - The World is the largest community of which you are a part. All the good that you give and take in all areas of your life affect far more than only those you touch and see in your daily life. What good manifests itself in the world? What do you give to the world? How can you manifest more good in the world?

For a more in-depth reading based on this spread, lay out two cards  for each position - the first to represent the good you can find and the second to advise you on actions to take to increase the good in that sphere of your life. Here’s the Spreading Good reading I laid out this morning:

Oh cool! I’m only slowly finding my way into oracle card reading in general (haven’t come back to the tarot. yet. I will… probably…!), and the deck I use only describes using a one card draw or a three card spread (past present future). I’ve been wanting to try a larger, deeper spread. This one looks like something I could try :)

I have a question about the in-depth version: do you do two cards per position, or do you go one each in all 7, then go another round to add the second card to each position?

    Thanks!
